DOLLHOUSE CAMP ~ DIY + DREAMY + DESIGNER (Ages 6 & up) ...starting June 11th!
This designer workshop is going to be AMAZING! Join us for a week of making everything you can imagine for your very own dollhouse! Each camper will be given a real wooden dollhouse, a perfect + plain canvas for imaginations to ignite and run wild! Artists will be planning, designing, laying out, painting, constructing, sculpting, decorating, sparkling, and detailing everything from designer walls, wallpapers, rugs, furniture, works of art, functional pieces, and even making little forever friends to bring this beautiful + personalized piece to life! We'll explore using paint, glue, clay, wood, fabric, specialty materials, upcycled goods, glitter, and more! An artistic camp fantastic for both girls and boys!
CREATURE CREATIONS at Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass | CO (Ages 9-12) ...starting June 18th!
Look to the world’s most endangered animals as your inspiration to make art in this environmentally-focused workshop. Examine what qualities certain species to be at risk of extinction and how we can help protect animals now and in the future. We use our art skills to bring awareness to these animals first through drawing then through printmaking. We begin drafting using Sharpies and pencils, then look at a variety of source materials to better learn the unique traits of our choice of animals and how we can best depict them. We finalize our drawings and learn how to transfer, carve and print our animal illustrations using Soft Kut linoleum blocks. Additional materials include animal print paper, colorful block printing inks and bold line work to produce truly unique creations. Before the week is out we also create a multimedia piece that incorporates upcycled goods, faux furs, and our very own prints!
ARTISTIC iEYE for the ORNATE: Elephants + Art of India Explored (Ages 7 & up) ...starting July 16th!
Artists will soar on a magic carpet ride into the intricate + ornate + exotic, developing an ARTISTIC iEYE while exploring and embellishing elephants as they venture into the stunning visual art of INDIA! Travel into a mystical world painting + embellishing + detailing 3D elephants. Design and hand-painting silks using wax + dyes in a beautiful batik process. Handmake a simple + vibrant mini weavings. Dive into radiant + radial chalk designs. Test the waters on block printing on handmade papers. Finally, heartfully learn the body art of henna hands-on!!! An enticing adventure into a new land filled with beautiful details, patterns, textures, vibrant colors, to completely captivate and develop one's ARTISTIC iEYE for detail! Artists will enjoy a playful process focused on mixed media exploration!
Take flight and soar above as it's all about unicorns + rainbows this week! Spend a "starstruck summer week" covered in sparkle + shimmer + shine on a true color venture into the land of unicorns and radiant rainbows! A colorful + complete week filled with pure magic! This mixed-media camp will be a delightful dream come true as makers craft up + paint + embellish + explore + glitter beautiful 3D unicorns, sculpt clay unicorn eyes, make magical wands, venture into the world of unicorn poop and potions, construct out of this world magical lands, and dive into some fantastic rainbow + unicorn arts + crafts of true color!
