The Salon, curated by Alya Howe and Andrea Clearfield, is an award-winning performance series that just recently found a new home at The Launchpad in Carbondale. Join the curators on Sept. 9 at 7:30p.m. to watch eleven artists present piano, dance, poetry, harp, comedy, singer/songwriting in an intimate setting. Performers include Andrea Clearfield performing piano music of Brahms and Lloyd Weber in collaboration with performance artist, Alya Howe, Wayne & René of Bittersweet Highway perform Borderland Americana: "music from the fringes", Averill Lovely, vocalist/guitarist shares musical reflections from his hobo years, Tania Stavreva, virtuoso pianist, performs original compositions + works by Ginastera and Bulgarian composers, Janet Harriman playing works by Carter Pann, Carlos Salsedo and 2 Jazz arrangements by her father for harp, poetry from 3 generations, Beverely Patton, Elissa Rodman and Alya Howe and comedy with AJ Finney.
