Free Photography Workshop

See things for what they are and for what else they are!

On Thursday evening, May 18, from 5:30-7pm, Carbondale Arts is excited to host an engaging, thoughtful, and free workshop for students and adults alike (parents with children 8 and up are welcome!) focusing on a fresh approach to photography. Meet at The Launchpad with your camera or smartphone and wear your walking shoes!

Sue Drinker, Dick Durrance, and Nannette Weinhold (curators of our upcoming photography exhibitions at the R2 Gallery in May) will guide a “seeing” expedition through alleyways and sidewalk spaces of Carbondale, giving lessons on how to see things for what they are and for what ELSE they are. Discover how to embrace your subject mindfully and mindlessly, and let go of the outcome by being receptive to the intrinsic nature of the experience itself.
