38TH ANNUAL VALLEY VISUAL ART SHOW

38TH ANNUAL VALLEY VISUAL ART SHOW

January 12 through February 16, 2018

We have received 50 applications as of 1:15pm (Monday, Nov 13)! To add your name to the wait list, please email Brian at brian@carbondalearts.com. If space becomes available, we will send an application to you. Thank you all!

The opening reception will take place Friday, January 12, from 6-8pm at the R2 Gallery located in The Launchpad. The show is an “open call” to all artists working in all media who are current or new members of Carbondale Arts and who reside in a ZIP code beginning with “816”. As always, all artwork must be original (no reproductions except photography), for sale, created within the last 12 months, and not previously shown at Carbondale Arts R2 Gallery.

Again this year (like this past year), in an effort to professionally exhibit your artwork in our gallery space, we are only be able to accommodate 50 artworks (one work per artist) in the upcoming 38th Annual Valley Visual Art Show (opening Friday, January 12, 2018). Artists were be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning Monday, November 13, 2017, and should complete our online application (see link above or red button below), which was made available at 9:00am that day. If you sign up after we’ve received 50 applications, we will add you to the wait list.

The Valley Visual Art Show is one of the longest-standing community art shows committed to showing the work of local artists. VVAS began in 1980 as a venue for local artists to share their artwork with the public. VVAS still provides this opportunity, especially for artists new to the area and budding artists, but the show has also become both a salute to the wide variety of artistic talents in our area and a time to bring the artist community together.  This show features 50 Roaring Fork Valley artists and includes two and three dimensional work created in with wide variety of media. We look forward to receiving work from many new artists as well as many long time local artists from the Roaring Fork Valley.

Participating artists also had the opportunity to vie for the People’s Choice Award, which was presented to Staci Dickerson in 2017!
